Today's Scorpio horoscope: Things are looking up, but you might have to face your own shadow before you can see the possibilities all around you. It's not about one specific deal or any single decision you need to make. It's about your overall attitude; if you believe that you're on your way to success, then you are. Put your intensity to work and make it happen.

Because I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me. :D

International trailer for Tropic Thunder. Dudes, only fangirling of the highest degree could get me to voluntarily sit through the trailer for a Ben Stiller movie. I'm still debating as to whether or not I'm actually going to see this movie. I think curiosity about RDJ's performance will probably win out. But I'm definitely going to a matinee.

Okay. The trailer actually looks really funny. And RDJ doing an Australian accent? Insanely sexy.

Hm. These articles aren't skimming themselves. I'd better get cracking.

Edit: Oh my god. I've got to go to Japan, if only to take a tour of the love hotels.

LMAO ENGLISH B00BIES DUB

Setsuna is being voiced by Brad Swaile.

Yes, SETSUNA == LIGHT AGAIN.

Aside from the fact that my sis can now do the "I AM THE GOD OF THE NEW WORLD" "THERE IS NO GOD IN THIS WORLD!!!" thing in ENGLISH now...

...everytime I hear Setsuna's voice I'm gonna keep thinking of I WILL TAKE THIS POTATO CHIP... AND EAT IT!.

Such an epic line.

I WILL TAKE THIS GUNDAM... AND EAT IT!!!

(I, for one, welcome our new smexy-voiced incarnations of Allelujah and Tieria.)

...so much epic from the b00bies fandom lately. I've forgotten how much I missed it.

Venue-Spotting

If you're interested not only the music of King Crimson but
also in the venues in which they've played, then the chances are you need to
get out more.

Katie Armiger croons a country song

Katie Armiger's first two music videos, 17 in Abilene and Make Me Believe, popped up on national video channels GAC and CMT. But she offers up an a cappella exclusive here for local fans.

The Houston native spent some of her increasingly rare home time with us, singing a bit of Trail of Lies. It's one of 10 songs she wrote or co-wrote on Believe, her terrific sophomore effort, released last week. Pick up the disc for the full tune. (This was just before she turned 17 last month.)

Read the full feature on Armiger -- where she dishes on Blake Shelton, missing her junior prom and BFF and frequent collaborator Ashlee Hewitt, a top 10 Nashville Star finalist.

King Crimson - Feb. 11, 1972 - Wilmington

Since Crimso last played the States they'd not only parted company with Peter Sinfield but had managed to break-up during their first writing/rehearsal session in January. Despite this setback the band fulfilled what it believed to be their contractual obligation

Bitchiness abating

Am in a marginally better mood today. This is good. Mood is getting better with liberal application of tea.

work stuff )

I should be finishing up those articles for class. Buuuut I'm organizing the links on my blog.

Speaking of my blog, I posted a new entry to my blog. My blog, my blog, my blog. Ahem. The entry is geeky linkage: SF/Fantasy writing links, Hugh Jackman's manly arms, and Tom Cruise as Iron Man, wtf. Check it out, shoot me some comments, et cetera.

Maybe I'll look for a new layout for the blog while I'm at it. Something with three columns.

Before I work, I must post.

My holiday was pretty quiet; pretty awesome and pretty relaxing. Went to the Anime Expo. Played Dynasty Warriors 6 all day and ate cake. No BBQ. No fireworks [though we could hear them]. Just us. Couldn't go to a BBQ in Chatsworth due to gas and the heat.

Getting back into Crying Freeman; it's taking me back to my childhood while watching the Ping Pong Club. Obus introduced me to Gantz, which I'm really starting to dig a lot.

Other than that, work is work.

MY PARENTS ARE AWESOME.

I've wanted a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet for ages.

The fact is, when your Intuos2 tablet is, at 12 inches by 12 inches, actually larger than your laptop monitor, and can only be utilized while sitting crossedlegged with the tablet in your lap, you tire of using it really fast.

Whereas the petite 6 by 4 inch Bamboo Fun that I had to work with in the office was both an ease and a delight to use. I decided I wanted to get the larger 8.5x4.5 inch version for my home use.

That was several months ago. Dad said he would help me get one a discounted price directly from his retailer friend. Alright then. Waited a few months. Said friend didn't seem to be able to get a unit of the tablet I wanted. Started giving up hope on ever getting it.

Today, I came home and my Dad handed me a large box with "Bamboo Fun" printed on it. It went something like this.

Dad: Here.
Me: ...
Dad: It's your birthday present.
Me: ...
Dad: I wanted to give it to you on Saturday, your birthday, but your mom said we should give it to you today.
Me: ...AAAAAAHHHH!!

OMG HOW AWESOME IS THAT.

So now I have a shiny black Bamboo Fun tablet all nicely set up beside my laptop. Everything that comes with it is black-- the mouse, the pen, the USB cable. Even the freakin' penholder is black. The packaging box was also black and smelt faintly of FACTORY FRESH NEW CAR.

I'm naming the tablet Deathscythe, just for the heck of it.

To break in the new tablet, I broke out an old art piece I'd abandoned months ago and finished the coloring!

I only fixed the shading; too lazy to edit the crappy lineart.

I'd intended to do all 4 Meister in this style--photorealistic features, shaded skin tones and flats for everything else. I wanted to turn them into postcards that I could convince the people at MooCards to print for me. But then I got lazy, and now I'm too busy for that. I have work and the fic archive to run and everything. Alas!

But YAY, NEW TABLET! ♥
